The Korean Bar Association, established in 1952, aims to defend the peoples basic human rights and establish a basic democratic order.The Korean Bar Association is engaged in a variety of activities to defend basic human rights, such as investigating the facts of an unfair case in which the citizens are infringed on basic human rights by state power, requesting correction, and devising measures to prevent recurrence.The Korean Bar Association is putting it into practice.
The Korean Bar Association conducts legal volunteer activities in rural areas, visiting legal assistants, senior citizens homes and Hanawon, womens migration centers, and visiting multicultural families in each region on their own.By organizing the Special Committee on Public Interest Litigation, we are supporting public interest litigation for the purpose of relieving consumer damage in order to solve the problem that victims of consumer damage cases that produce a large number of victims even though it is a small amount are difficult to get help from a lawyer.The Korean Bar Association is striving to establish a judicial system in which the public can trust the judicial system, receive professional legal services, and protect the rights and interests of the people.
In addition, the Korean Bar Association offers opinions on various enacted and amended bills to present the correct legislative direction, and is in consultation with the Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, and related organizations through communication and dialogue to improve the advanced judicial system.As the number of lawyers increases and the acts of lawyers become diversified, the importance of ethical awareness and ethics education for individual lawyers is being emphasized.
The Korean Bar Association handles the registration and reporting of lawyers, as well as the refusal of registration and cancellation of registration through strict examination.
We provide training including legal theory and practical education.
In addition, in an effort to protect clients and foster lawyers trusted by the public, we are also working on self-cleaning activities, such as disciplinary action against lawyers who violated the Attorney Generals Law or the rules of the Korean Bar Association or damaged the dignity of a lawyer.The Korean Bar Association actively responds to the increase in economic and cultural exchanges in the international community, the rapidly changing international legal environment and globalization of the legal market, establishes various committees to secure international competitiveness, and conducts research and research to improve the system and strengthen competitiveness.
We are actively interacting with overseas legal organizations, such as dispatching members overseas and inviting foreign companies, and actively responding to the opening of the legal market.
